Join us Tuesday evening, November 19, 2019 at our Durham location, for continuing education with Dr. Zachary Kern. He will present: Beating the 'Beetus. This interactive talk will briefly review the pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of diabetes mellitus, then discuss recent advances in monitoring and treatment for both cats and dogs. These advances include the use of interstitial glucose monitors (Freestyle Libre), achieving diabetic remission in cats, alternative insulins (degludec, Toujeo), and dealing with complicated diabetic patients. If time permits, Dr. Kern will also discuss some case examples, including those brought by participants.

Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM. Dr. Kern will begin at 7:00 PM. This event will be held at Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospitals located at 608 Morreene Road, Durham, NC 27705. Preregistration is required. Sign up here.

TVRH invites owners, managers, front desk staff and techs to a training seminar with Jeanine Moga, MA, MSW, LCSW of NCSU Vet School Family and Community Services on how to deal with the angry, grieving, or indecisive client. Help clients make complicated treatment decisions, problem-solve financial constraints, plan for and adjust to the death of a loved pet, and deal with a crisis with this foundational training.

Jeanine is a licensed veterinary social worker who specializes in human-animal relationships, grief counseling, and animal-assisted therapy. Providing thoughtful crisis intervention, supportive counseling, and grief support to clients is her main goal.
